About the Nashville IAHSP® Regional Chapter We are excited about 2010 and activities our Chapter will be doing this year! In addition to our regular monthly meetings, which are full of continuing education topics, we will also be promoting Staging both to real estate professionals and to the general public. As ASPs we have so much information and expertise to share and we plan to do that through several events. We`ll be doing a Caravan Staging event early in the year, getting together with other IAHSP Chapters to share ideas, wine party, garage sale/swap meet, a trade show or two, and of course participating in the World Wide Staging Service Week. Check for details under the Events section, which we will be updating throughout the year. Feel free to contact any of our Board members for more information.

Lucas-Thrower, and David Powell of Synergistic Painting (not pictured - Paula Foster, Bev Burger, Rhonda Taylor, Pam Woods, and Lamar Tatum of Synergistic Painting) This year the Nashville area Chapter of the International Association of Home Staging Professionals selected the Tennessee Baptist Children`s Home for their community service project. The Nashville Chapter redesigned the "Hart Cottage" main living room and craft/exercise room. The Hart Cottage is home for eight children who live in a family-style atmosphere with a married couple who serve as house parents. The goal of the residential program is to be the least restrictive as possible and, where possible, to keep the family intact. September 21st - 23rd, 2009 the Nashville IAHSP Regional Chapter members rolled up their sleeves and fastened their tool belts, and "Staged to Live" the Hart Cottage`s living room, dining room, and craft/exercise room. Our focus was to create a warm comfortable living space with ample seating and storage for a family of 10. American Signature provided us with a full couch and love seat in the durable micro suede fabric in a camel color. The couches updated the space and unified the seating. Two club chairs we purchased to compliment the couches. The cool thing about the chairs is that we attached casters to them so they are easily moved to accomodate the needs of the family. Additional seating is provided with the ottoman/coffee table. By wrapping batting and fabric around an old coffee table it was converted into a beautiful ottoman. The living room is now a casual and comfortable area for teens to gather and relax.

A new desk and end table expanded the computer station and everything has a place. Plus, stereo headphones were donated by Best Buy for the teens to listen to music on the computer and not disturb the rest while working in the living room. A refurbished dresser/buffet is the centerpiece of the dining room. Above the buffet is original artwork by teens that have new black frames and looks beautiful.
Dining Room before Staging Dining Room after Staging The Craft/Exercise room has a dual function and will give teens a place to have fun inside the home. Bright green walls bring life to the room while pink, orange, and purple lamps and baskets abound. Original art by Kathy Fix in a geometric/modern pattern also give pops of color to the room. A new weight bench and weight holder were donated and been added to the space. Mirrors were hung on the wall for free weight lifting. A new craft table and a storage cabinet provide more storage for this makeover.
